Paddle boarding with Skeeter Skat: A Mosquito-Free Adventure
The lake stretched before me, glassy and turquoise blue in the soft morning light. It was the perfect morning for paddle boarding—warm, calm, and quiet, except for the occasional call of a loon echoing across the water.
I slid my board into the shallows and grabbed my paddle, but as I bent down to adjust my position, I felt that all-too-familiar tickle on my arm. Then another on my leg. The mosquitoes had arrived.
“Not today, bloodsuckers,” I muttered, reaching into my dry bag for my secret weapon—Skeeter Skat.
My products bottle’s label promised all-natural mosquito repellent power, and after a few generous spritzes on my arms, legs, and neck, the scent of citronella, lemon eucalyptus and lavender filled the air. It was a far cry from the chemical-laden bug sprays I used to suffer through. I took a deep breath. Fresh. Clean. No fumes.
With that, I hopped onto my board and pushed off, gliding smoothly away from the shore.
At first, I expected the mosquitoes to chase me as usual, buzzing relentlessly no matter how fast I paddled. But this time? Nothing. I grinned, watching them hover in confusion a few feet away before giving up entirely.
The farther I paddled, the more I relaxed. I skimmed past lily pads and darting fish, dipping my toes in the cool water, completely unbothered by the usual swarm. The day got brighter, the sky bluer. It was one of those perfect moments—no distractions, no bites, just me, my board, and the lake. Thanks to Skeeter Skat for a perfect paddle, with no bites!!! I wouldn’t expect anything less!!!
